Every third year, we have a family reunion with the Ely side of our family.
We loaded our bags into the van.
And the kids. Then we headed to the family farm in Montana.
We had a potty stop in Idaho Falls.
I have never seen the rapids as rough or the water level so high.
We stoped for lunch at this McDonalds in Rocker, Montana. Talk about a hole-in-the-wall town.
We did see this cool trailer, though.
We finally made it to the family farm. This is the Teton Dairy, where Fauneil was raised. There are a lot of things I love about this farm- big and small.
Uncle Ebert's imaculate garden.
The rustic fences.
The apple orchard where we had a dance to celebrate my marriage to Fauneil - almost ten years ago.
and the old fashioned looking water taps.
The best part about the farm is getting together with family. We have a lot of fun.
We swing high.
We swing low.
Big kids swing.
Little kids swing.
We teeter totter.
We play frisbee.
We have interesting conversations.
We just goof around and have fun.
We also work. Today we built the dance floor for our family reunion. Here we are trying to remember how it fits together. Once we figured it out...
We carried boards.
Then we screwed them all together. Dance floor complete.
We also built a tent for family members to sleep in.
As darkness approached, we built a fire and roasted marshmallows.
The sunset was beautiful tonight.
- Overall, it was a great day to be on the farm. I can’t wait to see what day two will bring.
Note: The sunset pictures were taken by my brother-in-law, Tyler Moulton. Mine turned out like crap.
