How To Screw Up A Sugar Cookie Recipe In One Easy Step

McCann asked to make sugar cookies today, so that is what we are going to do. But first, we are going to have a quick lunch of homemade mac and cheese.

The first thing we need to add is butter, but Claire is trying to lick it like a lolly pop (she is our next door neighbor).

Then we add the sugar.

Then we mix them together.

Then we add the eggs.

And corn syrup (not my favorite ingredient, by the way).

Then we mix it up.

Then, in a bowl we mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Next we take the four mixture and combine it with the wet mixture – one cup at a time.
Of course we have to wrestle in between things.
Seperate the dough into three parts, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
On a floured surface, we rolled the dough out flat and cut it with our star shapped cookie cutter.
Here they are layed out on the cookie sheet. Time to put them in the oven.

They looked like total crap when I pulled them out. I didn't even bother making frosting. I said, "screw it," and...

Took them out to Brandon and his friends who were playing football in our front yard.

Elliot and...

Spencer ate theirs so fast that I didn't even have time to take a picture of them with theirs. Wow!
